About the opportunity
The Fitness and Customer Service Officer in our Sport Unigym team in Launceston serves as the friendly face of Unigym, welcoming and assisting members, visitors, and callers in person, by phone, or online. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fitness and creating a welcoming, supportive environment for all participants. As a Unigym Fitness and Customer Service Officer, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and effective group fitness classes, ensuring that members are motivated, challenged, and supported throughout their fitness journey. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to conduct fitness assessments for members. This position will be regularly rostered to work outside the ordinary hours of 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and/or to regularly work weekends and/or public holidays.
What you’ll do:
- Provide customer service to internal and external Unigym clients, acting as the primary contact for Unigym member inquiries—greeting and assisting both new and existing members and visitors in person, by phone and online, with a warm and professional manner.
- Complete administrative duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, restocking reception forms, and organising storage areas.
- Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks throughout Unigym to ensure hygiene, safety, and a welcoming environment, ensuring cleanliness and professional presentation of reception, foyer, group fitness spaces, weights and cardio areas, and public areas, ensuring laundry, signage, and supply stocks are up to date.
- Process electronic transactions including stock sales and reconcile daily financial transactions.
What we’re looking for:
- Good customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage warmly and professionally in person, by phone, and online and motivate fitness participants.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy reception environment, maintaining accuracy with enquiries, bookings, payments, and administration.
- Competence in using gym management systems (e.g. XPLOR), point-of-sale equipment, and standard office software for member and transaction records.
- Reliable, organised, and adaptable team member, available to work flexible hours including weekends, early mornings, and evenings.
- Ability to deliver group fitness classes and fitness assessments
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 3 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $84,397 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $65,113 to $72,134 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
